Komunitas openSUSE diseluruh dunia memiliki evnt khusus dengan tag “openSUSE Community Week” yang berlangsung mulai tanggal 11 Mei hingga 17 Mei 2009. Sebenarnya, apa sih Community Week itu ?

What is Community Week?

Our community week is a chance to get people from around the world together at the same time to focus on specific topics, and to transfer knowledge about openSUSE to help grow our teams. The idea is to cover topics to improve our community by broadening our knowledge, and to enable new contributors to openSUSE and open source.

The idea is to cover topics to empower ourselves as a community by broadening our knowledge, and to enable new contributors to openSUSE and open source.

Jadi kesimpulannya, openSUSE Community Week adalah event dimana para developer dan kontributor openSUSE menyisihkan waktu bersama untuk membahas suatu topik tertentu. Contoh mudah misalnya, menyelesaikan atau merapikan suatu entry wiki, melakukan update artikel dan lain sebagainya.

Untuk Community Week tahun ini, openSUSE-ID memang tidak membuat event secara khusus, namun rencananya ada event sejenis yang dilakukan di bulan depan yang detailnya akan dibahas pada Kopdar #16. Kopdar #16 sendiri rencananya akan diadakan pada hari Sabtu tanggal 23 Mei 2009.
